Hello World,

I’m a software engineer originally from El Salvador and now living in Spain. My fascination with computers started in my childhood, back when floppy disks were still a thing. I remember getting excited about drawing in Paint and writing in Microsoft Word 95. I began my coding journey in high school, starting with pseudocode and DFDs, before diving into QBASIC and moving on to Visual Basic 6.0 and C++.

Things became more challenging and interesting when I pursued my bachelor’s degree. I gained a deeper understanding of how computers work, learning the fundamentals of electronics, microprocessors, compilers, machine code, and assembly language. I also became proficient in high-level programming languages like Java, C#, PHP, and JavaScript, setting the stage for my professional career.

My first real-world role was at a small agency, where I worked on a variety of projects using different technologies, including Java, Android, React Native, AngularJS, Rails, and .Net. This experience honed my ability to quickly adapt and switch between contexts.

In 2019, I landed my first remote opportunity as a contractor for a foreign company. It was here I refined my React skills, embraced NodeJS, and explored the JAMstack architecture. I also expanded my programming language toolkit to include Elixir and Clojure. During this time, I grew accustomed to the WFH lifestyle, async communication, and agile methodologies.

By 2021, I moved to a larger company, continuing as a remote contractor. I further honed my skills in React, GraphQL, and NodeJS, while improving my coding standards and collaborating more effectively within teams.

From 2022 to 2025, I worked at Firstleaf, where I gained invaluable experience in the e-commerce and marketing industries. I became well-versed in product development, A/B testing, and aligning my work with company values—focusing on delivering value rather than just code.
